Anesthesia

The ability to provide patients with safe, effective outpatient anesthesia has distinguished the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery since its earliest days. As a surgical specialist of the dental profession, Dr. Braly is trained in all aspects of anesthesia administration. In addition to his Oral and Maxillofacial Board Certifications, he is also Board Certified in Anesthesia (NDBA). Dr. Braly’s education and training, anesthesia continuing education programs, AAOMS’s Office Anesthesia Evaluation program, and our well-trained and experienced anesthesia team members contribute to an outstanding level of safety.

Both of the surgical suites at Norman Surgical Arts Center are well equipped to monitor and administer all forms of sedation and general anesthesia. During surgery, we monitor blood pressure, pulse, blood oxygen level, temperature, EKG, and CO2 output. In addition to the physical monitor, each patient has an anesthesia assistant who is focused solely on monitoring the patient. Dr. Braly and staff are also highly qualified to manage any complications or emergencies that may arise during the administration of anesthesia.

Our facility is the first and only Oral and Maxillofacial facility accredited by the AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care) in Oklahoma.

Our surgical assistants are certified in anesthesia assisting, have ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification, and in some cases PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
